Ferdian Yazid

Deputi Sekretaris Jenderal

Ferdian Yazid is the Deputy Secretary General at Transparency International Indonesia (TII). He has been with the organisation since 2014, focusing on corruption risks, corporate transparency, and business integrity issues, particularly in the private sector, extractive industries, and the energy sector. Ferdian graduated from the Criminology Study Program at Universitas Indonesia in 2014, where his final paper examined corruption-prevention measures implemented by Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi or KPK) from the perspective of social crime prevention.

He has contributed to the development of the Business Integrity System (SINTESIS) platform and various Transparency in Corporate Reporting (TRAC) assessments, including studies covering Indonesia’s 100 largest companies, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), regional government-owned enterprises (BUMDs), palm oil companies, independent power producers (IPPs), and mining companies. In the 2024 TRAC study on the mining sector, he was one of the authors assessing the transparency and integrity practices of 121 mining companies in Indonesia. The corporate assessment mentioned above then developed into INSTAR, a joint annual publication between Transparency International Indonesia (TII) and TEMPO Data Science.

His current work focuses on beneficial ownership transparency, corporate political engagement, corruption risks in natural-resource governance, and integrity challenges in Indonesia’s energy transition. He has contributed to research and public advocacy concerning mining governance, palm oil governance, coal-fired power-plant early retirement, and the biomass co-firing program. More recently, he has also been involved in research on the governance of critical-mineral supply chains and the integrity risks associated with Indonesia’s energy transition, including the development of the country’s nickel value chain. He also regularly speaks in public discussions and the media on anti-corruption and environmental issues
